Professional competence for goods transport (yrkeskunnande gods) is the competence required to become the transport manager on a commercial transport licence for goods transport. You demonstrate your competence by passing Trafikverket's knowledge test, which covers law, finance, technology and road safety.
Without a transport manager who has passed the test, the company cannot get a transport licence from the Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen). The course prepares you for both parts of the test.
Who needs the course?
The course is aimed at you if you are planning to start a haulage firm, a removal firm or another business that involves transporting goods for payment. It also suits you if you are going to act as transport manager for an existing transport company.
You do not need any prior knowledge. The course starts from the basics and takes you step by step through everything you need to know before the test.

What is Eget på väg?
Eget på väg is the established name for the training that prepares you for Trafikverket's knowledge test in professional competence for goods transport. The course gives you the competence required to become a transport manager and apply for a transport licence.
How difficult is Trafikverket's test?
The test consists of two parts: part 1 with 40 multiple-choice questions and part 2 with 20 case studies. You have 120 minutes for each part and need at least 24 out of 40 points on each part.
How long does the course take?
Do I need any prior knowledge?
No. The course starts from the basics and requires no previous experience of the transport industry.
How much does it cost to apply for a transport licence?

Can I be transport manager for several companies?
Yes. As a transport manager under contract, you can, according to EU Regulation 1071/2009, be responsible for no more than four companies with a combined total of no more than 50 vehicles.
