Accounting for your industry
At Ekonomico, we handle the accounting for businesses in a wide range of industries. Financial processes may often seem similar, but we know that every industry has its own unique challenges and opportunities. It is in the details that we make a difference, by giving you advice that doesn't just solve problems but prevents them. With us, you get a proactive partner who understands your particular business.
Taxi companies
In a taxi business, revenue comes from the taximeter, cards, apps and dispatch centres, with 6 per cent VAT and weekly transfers to a reporting centre (redovisningscentral). We keep your taxi bookkeeping together so that the figures match what the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) can see.
Haulage companies
Bookkeeping for a haulage or bus company is tied to the transport licence, because the company's equity has to be enough to cover every vehicle. We handle the accounting for hauliers, courier firms, removal firms and bus companies, from diesel and road charges to subsistence allowances and year-end closing.
Car dealers
In the car trade, the VAT depends on who you bought the car from. The same car can be sold under the margin scheme or with standard VAT, and the invoice looks different depending on which applies.
Car care and servicing
Car washes, valeting, tyre changes and garages count as vehicle servicing. That means a staff register (personalliggare), often a cash register, and unannounced inspection visits from the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket).
Construction companies
Reverse charge construction VAT on one invoice, standard VAT and ROT on the next, an electronic staff register (personalliggare) on site and projects that run over several months. We keep the figures in order while you keep the building work in order.
Cleaning companies
In a cleaning company that sells to households, a large part of the payment comes from the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) rather than from the customer. This means every RUT invoice and every claim must match the bookkeeping.
Restaurants
Two VAT rates in the same till, a staff register (personalliggare), a cash register and lots of employees on changing rotas. The restaurant trade has more rules than most. We know them.
E-commerce
Bookkeeping in e-commerce is less about the till and more about the flows. Every order, fee, return and payout must be traceable in the books, and if you sell to customers in other EU countries, your sales determine which country's VAT applies.
Consultancies
As a consultant you sell your time, and most of your finances come down to invoicing correctly, allocating income and costs to the right period and taking money out the right way. We handle the bookkeeping and help you choose between salary and dividends.
Healthcare companies
Healthcare is exempt from VAT, but not everything a care provider sells is. If you are hired in as a doctor you charge VAT. If you see patients at your own practice, you do not. We keep the two apart in the bookkeeping from the very first invoice.
Personal assistance companies
In a company providing personal assistance, almost all income comes from the assistance allowance and almost all costs are wages. Accounting and bookkeeping for a personal assistance company is therefore about making sure that time reports, payroll and the allowance all show the same hours.
Hair salons
Haircuts through the till, products in the display, gift cards and perhaps a rented chair or two. Each type of income has its own VAT rule, and the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) checks the staff register without warning. We handle the bookkeeping so that the figures add up.
Beauty salons
A staff register, a certified cash register and lots of small payments every day. A beauty salon is subject to the same inspection rules as a restaurant, and the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) turns up unannounced.
